EDUCATION

The SS4LS Academic Support Program has been in place for the past decade, and has been refined and developed to meet the ever-changing needs of our beneficiaries.

The SS4LS Academic support program is currently guided by three key principles.

  • Increase Employability – through the facilitation of capacity building courses and certificates.
  • Maintain Motivation – through the creation and implementation of career pathways.
  • Provide Support and Guidance – though the athlete mentorship and tutoring program

These principals are visualised in terms of a honeycomb diagram, which aims to identify areas of growth in each. Each of these different categories involve tasks fundamental to our developmental methodology.

Currently, the program is collaborating with multiple departments within the University of the Western Cape (UWC) as well as several other stakeholders (such as Education based NGOs and our own Alumni Network) in order to ensure our beneficiaries thrive both during and after their time with us.
