The SA u/19 Women’s team that competed in the recent 2025 U19 Women’s T20 World Cup, which was held in Malaysia from 18 January 2025 to 2 February 2025, had three UWC CC female cricket players: Jemma Botha, Jae-leigh Filander, and Kayla Reyneke.
Kayla Reyneke was named captain of the South African under-19 World Cup squad. She led her side to the final against India U19. Despite South Africa’s unbeaten record that led to the Final, they were unable to defeat a powerful Indian team that dominated the competition. India won its second U19 World Cup championship. They successfully defended their 2023 World Cup title.
Jemma Botha and Kayle Reyneke were both chosen for the World Cup Team XI of the Tournament.
